Victoria Evans is a Glasgow based artist who studied painting at Leith School of Art in Edinburgh. She works mainly in large scale oils, intaglio prints and installation. She is particularly interested in the links between painting and sculpture, and how exhibitions can create an immersive experience for the audience.
Victoria’s work is concerned with impermanence and the human experience.
‘I think paintings have the potential to serve as emotional touchstones; a way of seeing through different eyes for a moment. Through committing to each piece and engaging fully with my materials I am struggling to create talismanic, physically arresting objects, which have the power to move people in ways which are difficult to articulate.’
