Having chosen not to take up a position offered to me at Dundee School of Art in the 80’s, I spent many barren years away from painting, working for a Law Firm when artwork took the form of a hobby. In 1999 I moved to the Isle of Bute where I spent 7 years on the coast. The magical quality of Argylshire’s light cast its spell on me and rekindled my desire to capture it on canvas.
Dramatic skies are my preferred subject with a moody melancholy theme.
Mostly self taught, I’ve benefitted from many part time courses including Glasgow School of Art, Strathclyde University, and artists workshops.
Exhibited work to date : The Lighthouse, House for an Art Lover, Peoples Palace, Lochinch Castle. Southside Gallery, Battlefield, Greenheart Scotland Gallery, Ayr, Clydeside Open Exhibition, Clydebank Museum
