Having a keen interest in music, although not overly proficient in playing an instrument, Michael has always taken a keen interest in the local music scene. His music photography had a tentative start at a gig by local noise-nicks St Deluxe back in 2009. Within weeks his work was appearing in National magazines.
He feels there is a convergence between his landscape work and his music photography. “A gig can be fluid, there is always something going on, whereas landscapes are usually more peaceful. But I’m always trying to capture light or movement. I tend to wander off the beaten track to find a different angle on the everyday.
